Remstar International has introduced its new Shuttle XP Vertical Lift Module (VLM) which provides increased levels of storage capacity and delivers items to the operator at an ergonomic hieght. The Shuttle XP VLM stores items in one inch increments, thus saving up to 85% of previously wasted floor space. This savings can provide the highest levels of storage capacity available.
The new Shuttle XP VLM design allows users to store various sized parts within the VLM. The unit comes fully loaded with shelf rails, which the trays are stored on, for 100% dynamic storage capacity. The Shuttle XP VLM’s one inch shelf rail positioning can provide up to 50% more capacity than traditional Vertical Lift Modules. Remstar’s innovative technology combines controls, dual level tray spacers, shelf rails and a light curtain to scan every tray’s height automatically in one inch increments.
For an example of the space savings, a tray with a 3.1 inch tall box placed for storage would automatically be stored in a 4 inch high area of the Shuttle XP VLM. The system measures the box as it passes onto the lift platform and dynamically determines that a four-inch high space is needed, thereby increasing storage capacity. Other VLMs don’t make the same dynamic allocation for height and must store the box in a fixed space, such as fixed six-inch shelf rail spaces. The wasted space can translate into wasted capital when 50% more equipment is needed for the job!
The standard Shuttle XP VLM can also now handle heavier loads up to 150,000 lbs and reach up to 65 feet tall to maximize overhead storage cube. Optional 34 inch tray depths provide even greater space savings and increased capacity within the same unit.
