Batch Picking & Replenishment

Batch picking is the process of picking multiple orders simultaneously to achieve greater efficiencies. Since an operator will touch a SKUs location once for the batch he is reducing the time required to pick. Batches often run from six to 12, but it all depends on the cube size the completed orders require. This method will often utilize inventory management software, pick-to-light technology and automated equipment.

Batch replenishment refers to the process of re-stocking by using the same efficient methods. A SKU is inducted and the software will direct the operator to the correct cell/storage locations to replenish. When used with automated equipment, the operator will be able to replenish a carousel or VLM with a batch of SKUs with the same speed and accuracy as they picked (up to 600% more efficiently).
